ALL ABOUT AIR PURIFIERS

What To Look For In An Air Purifier?
the buying tips.

Among most of electrical appliances that we have bought so far, air purifiers seems to be one of the hardest product to buy.

The reason? For normal people, it's hard to say if one air purifier is better than others. There's nothing to see or listen. You can't say that the picture is stunning ( as we can about a tv) or the sound is superbly clear ( as with an mp3 player). All we can say about an air purifier is that we "feel" the air is cleaner. Or for some people - the change is dramatic - no more puffy eyes or runny nose in the morning, or their kids have no more asthma attack.

Another bad things is there's no agreed standard test that could be used to benchmark these air purifiers!

The good thing is, we have done the hard part for you. We peruse scientific papers, check consumer reports and other air purifier experiment and lay out all the best rate air purifiers to you. Anyway, there are certain things that you must look at before buying an air purifier

1) Avoid one without HEPA
That's rule number one. Air purifiers fitted with HEPA filter have been shown to be a lot more effective than others. It trapped more pollutants and emits no harmful ozone as a side-effect.

2)Add Up Filter Cost
An air purifier may cost less up front. However, in the long term it could be more expensive than others.

Before you buy, see how many filters it has. How long will it lasts (all HEPA/Carbon filters will need to be changed eventually). And how much these replacement filter will cost you.

So many people buy a cheaper air purifier only to bear the expensive filter costs later.

Buy an effective ( and generally more costly up front ) air purifiers because their filters lasts longer and cleans the air better.

3)Where the air purifier would clean
Ideally, you need an air purifier in every room. However, because of money constraint you may want to have an air purifiers on castors - so that it can be moved anywhere you want.

So, first decide where you want to put it ( living room/ bedroom etc) and check how big is your area.

Every single air purifiers has it's it's maximum effective area. So if your living room is 500 sq feet and you buy an air purifier that has an effective area of 250 sq ft, it won't be able to do much.

Buy one with it's maximum area bigger than the room size you intend to put it in. That way it'll clean better and faster.

4) Any Special Needs?
Some people wants to filter dust, others needs help with cigarette smoke while few may want to get rid of harmful gases.

In general, most air purifiers will filter normal household pollutants like dust, allergen, airborne particles etc. However, there are specially designed machine that will also filter smoke more effectively than others. Some will kill bacteria with special UV lights and so on.

So, check your needs before shopping.
