Alen T100 Review Summary
The Good: This stylish desktop air purifier is affordable and comes with 3 in 1 filter that is easy to change.
The Bad: For some people, the size can be pretty awkward. It’s too tall to put on a table and too short (and hence, inefficient) to put on the floor.
The Bottomline: Regardless of the odd size, this is a good desktop tower air purifier. It also has a lifetime warranty and a safety feature not known in air purifiers at this price range. Shortlist this machine if you’re shopping for a desktop air cleaner to be used in places where space is limited (such as in office cubicle).
What we like about the Alen T100 Air Purifier
Simple Filter: It rolls the pre-filter, HEPA filter (to trap 99.97% of airborne particles) and an activated carbon filter into one. This makes it easy for you to keep track when you need to change the filter.
Sleek design: The black stylish machine comes with touch buttons to control it’s 3 fan speeds. It also has a digital display – a feature most air purifiers this price don’t have.
Quite Silent: On low setting, you hardly hear the motor working and on high setting, it hums as loud as a desk fan.
Warranty: Like any other Alen air cleaners, the company backs it with a lifetime warranty, provided you change the filter every 6 to 9 months.
Safety: If the lid is opened, the machine will shut down automatically. Most machines at this price range do not have this feature.
But, we are concerned that :
- The filter costs the same ($49 annually) as the bigger T300, which covers more area and has more features.
- The T100 has no air intake grills on it’s side ( but the base of the unit does have a swivel to rotate the machine 25 degrees sideways)
- The unit also comes with a button to turn it’s ionizer on or off. Ionizers are known to emit ozone, which is harmful in large quantity. Alen Corp claims that the ozone this machine emits is far below the limit set by the FDA. If you’re worried, turn off this button.

About Alen Corp
Alen Corp was founded in 2005 by Peter Mann.
When his infant son struggled with terrible asthma and no air purifiers were up to his standard, Mann took the matter into his own hand.
He decided he should build one. After all, he is an engineer by profession.
Starting a new company was not easy but thanks to glowing reviews from allergy websites and Consumer Report, sales have been brisk.
Alen Corp Now
Mann’s company has successfully make it’s way into the crowded air purifying market with machines like the A350 and A375.
Recent products include :-
- The first lead-free air purifier in the market called Paralda, and
- Special power saving filters that made entirely of recycled bottles, called The Airnamic Green MERV 8.
The company’s headquarter is in Austin, Texas.
